01 — THE CHALLENGE

You learned the words. Where are they when you need them?

Give the expressions you discover somewhere to go.

01

The call ends. The learning stops.

An expression made sense in your lesson, but you cannot recall it the next day. What if you could take the learning home with you?

02

Good lessons leave scattered notes.

It is hard to take notes and stay in the conversation. What if you could revisit what you learned afterward?

03

Knowing a word is only one step.

You recognize its meaning, but it never makes it into your conversations. What if you could practice it with your own experiences?

02 — HOW IT WORKS

Make the time between lessons count.

Capture → recall → practice → use it next lesson. Complete the cycle between your computer and iPhone.

03 — THE EVIDENCE

Why the cycle goes beyond recording.

Retrieval practice and spaced review give you two ways to revisit what you learn.

RETRIEVAL PRACTICE

Recalling is part of learning.

Experiments show that retrieving studied material from memory can support long-term retention.

Try recalling the answer before turning over a Tellable flashcard.Roediger & Karpicke (2006) ↗
SPACED PRACTICE

Spread your review over time.

A meta-analysis of verbal memory research examines the benefits of separating learning episodes over time.

Return to your words on your iPhone on different days, beyond the lesson itself.Cepeda et al. (2006) ↗

These studies concern learning methods, not the effectiveness of Tellable itself. Individual results vary.

04 — THE DIFFERENCE

From keeping a lesson to using what you learned.

Compare stopping at a recording with taking it through review and practice.
